My life was radically changed at the age of 19 when I realized that Christianity wasn’t meeting a list of do’s and don’ts, but rather a response to what Jesus had done on the cross. I have never gotten over it. My life is energized by two things: One is helping others find that same relationship with God so they, too, can experience a life they could have only imagined before. Second is to help people understand and apply the Bible to their lives. Those twin passions have been fueled by an M.Div. from Denver Seminary and a D.Min. from Gordon Conwell Seminary. I have served in full time ministry since 1980, and been at Living Faith since September 2004

A native Texan, I married my high school sweetheart, Chere (sweeeett!!). She works in Human Resource for Family Innovations. We have three grown children: Joshua (native Texan and UT grad), J.J. (native Colorado and current college student) and Niki (native Iowan and Bethel Grad). There possibly could have been native Nebraskans and Minnesotans too, but teaching three kids to drive was exciting enough. As a life-long learner and adventurer, I am always discovering new ways to interact with the world around me: as an Adjunct professor (of preaching) at Bethel Seminary, being a flight instructor, fly-fishing and more recently sailing across Lake Superior with my family. Who knows, next it may be basket-weaving or noodling (which demand serious concentration and courage).
