I was born in San Diego, CA, but I’m a Minnesota kid. Both my parents are from MN, attended the U of M, and dragged me back to MN kicking and screaming at 2 ½. The technical stats on me involve an above average youth group experience, involvement in and working for the Navigators as campus staff at UWEC and SDSU, getting my M.Div. at Bethel Seminary, being involved in a house church, and now being a part time pastor-person with Living Faith Church. I’ve also been working in the marketing and analytics arena for big data since 2001.
The personal side of my life is far more interesting. My wife Rachel and I met before college. We were married in 1994 and still love hanging out together. (It’s probably because Rachel is awesome and I figured that out.) We have 3 above-average children: Andrew, Hannah and Karina. They are creative, active, spontaneous, and constantly driving me nuts with their diverse personalities, free flowing opinions, and increasingly sharp wit. Can you imagine? They are my favorite parts of my every day.
We began attending Living Faith because we had a few friends here and the youth programs are exceptional. We’ve stayed because we don’t have to have it all together when we are here. Optimistic or pessimistic, happy or sad, up or down, it gets to be about the journey. My journey has brought me to a place where my goal is to create a safe place for others to rest, recover, question, and learn--so God can empower each of us to take the next steps in our journey. Living Faith invited me to come aboard because I believe that these things best happen in community, and we’re trying to build connections where we can love God and all the people in our lives well.
