I grew up loving stories, art, imagination, and knowing I wanted to be a teacher. I had some exceptional teachers in the Centennial School District, and wanted nothing more than to pass on that experience to others. I attended UW-Eau Claire and earned my B.A. and teaching license in English/Theater Arts Education, grades 6-12. After a brief teaching stint in the public schools, I realized that I also loved teaching about the Bible and the spiritual life we have in Christ. I was discipled through the Navigators during my college years, I joined my handsome husband, Eric, on staff in 1995, and together we ministered to college students at UW-EC, SDSU (South Dakota, not San Diego), and the Midwest region. We moved to the Twin Cities in 2001, a toddler and infant in tow, so Eric could attend Bethel Seminary.
When we added a third kiddo to the mix, I followed my nose into the home school world. After teaching my little people the “hard stuff” like not eating things off the floor and potty training, I wanted to get to be with them while they learned the “fun stuff” like literature and history. This year we have a 10th, 7th and 5th grader at home. Time flies when you’re having fun (or trying to figure out how to teach long division)!
I continue to love the adventure of knowing and following Jesus--and the myriad of things, awesome and difficult, that He leads us through. I love my amazing husband and kids, creating art, ministering to others, teaching, and learning about everything.
I started at Living Faith in October of 2012 and enjoy the flexible nature of my administrative secretary position, as well as the ability to help others minister effectively. I am usually hanging out in the office Mon-Thurs afternoons. Stop by and visit!!! (Oh, and chocolate is always welcome.)
